15th Annual Waikoloa Ukulele Festival

We start off this festival with a very educational and fun workshop put on by world-renowned Roy Sakuma and friends at the Waikoloa Beach Marriott Resort & Spa. Beginners and long time players of this instrument can learn Roy’s style of ukulele playing. Many that have come in the past learned a song or two to which is typically performed at either of the Waikoloa Beach Resort Shopping centers.

Hawai`i’s top `ukulele entertainers headline this annual musical extravaganza at Queens’ MarketPlace and Kings’ Shops. Whether you are a resident or a visitor, the rhythmic sound of the `ukulele will bring you back to a time of the beauty and magic of Old Hawai`i. The music will make you dance and be part of this once a year event that showcases the sound that is known worldwide.

Movies Under the Stars  “Finding Nemo”

Once a month, you’re invited to bring a beach chair or blanket for a free outdoor movie at dusk (6-8pm) at the Coronation Pavilion.

March: Finding Nemo Nemo, an adventurous young clownfish, is unexpectedly taken from his Great Barrier Reef home to a dentist’s office aquarium. It’s up to his worrisome father Marlin and his friendly but forgetful regal blue tang fish Dory to bring Nemo home—meeting vegetarian sharks, surfer dude turtles, hypnotic jellyfish, hungry seagulls, and more along the way.

A full weekend of events is planned for the 18th Annual Lavaman, including a 5K Sunset Run on Friday; the popular LavaKids event on Saturday; and the main event on Sunday. Come watch as 1,800 triathletes compete in this Olympic distance event starting at Anaeahoomalu Bay, consisting of a 1-mile swim, 25-mile bike ride, and 10K run.

4th of July Extravaganza - Free Event

The fun-filled event at Queens’ MarketPlace will feature great entertainment, face painting, popcorn, cotton candy, the Choo Choo train, and lots of great family fun all day long, culminating with live set to a spectacular fireworks display over Waikoloa Bowl at Queens’ Gardens. The fun begins at 10:00 am and continues throughout the day until the 8:00pm fireworks extravaganza.
