For the first time, Willie K will make a special appearance at the 17th Annual Great Waikoloa \u2018Ukulele Festival Saturday, March 4 at Queens\u2019 MarketPlace.<\/h3>\n<p>  Just part of the day-long line up of \u2018ukulele superstars on three stages, Willie K is a Grammy nominee, and winner of 18 N\u0101 H\u014dk\u016b Hanohano Awards. His talented fingers and powerful voice stretch the limits from sweet falsetto, to lowdown blues, blow-your-hair-back rock, and operatic aria.<\/p>\n<p>  The \u2018Ukulele Festival begins with Roy Sakuma\u2019s traditional free \u2018ukulele workshop, this year at the Waikoloa Beach Marriott Resort &amp; Spa\u2019s Paniolo Ballroom starting at 10am. From 11:15 a.m. throughout the day, live entertainment take place on three stages at Kings\u2019 Shops and Queens\u2019 MarketPlace.<\/p>\n<p>  The all-star lineup includes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Lito Arkangel.<\/b> From Keaau in East Hawai\u2018i, Lito is a Navy veteran, lecturer at UH Hilo and regular entertainer in resort lounges. He is an accomplished musician and N\u0101 H\u014dk\u016b Hanohano Awards nominee who has also played the big stage at the Merrie Monarch Festival. <\/li>\n<li><b>Kris Fuchigami.<\/b> A Hawai\u2018i Island musician, Kris won the Hamakua Music Scholarship Competition at the age of 15. Since then, he has released five CDs, and performed worldwide. Kris has an exciting style that pulls in elements of pop, rock and contemporary sound.<\/li>\n<li><b>Arden Fujiwara.<\/b> Born in Hawai\u2018i, Arden is now part of the Seattle music scene, fusing \u2018ukulele tradition with the progressive, including rock and hip hop.<\/li>\n<li><b>Kunia Galdeira. <\/b>Grandson of Gabby \u201cPops\u201d Pahinui, Kunia learned to play \u2018ukulele at a very young age. He is an in-demand solo artist and also frequently plays with Sonny Lim and Kevin Kealoha as the trio, \u201cEkolu Mea Nui.\u201d<\/li>\n<li><b>The Humble Project<\/b>, led by Tad Humble and K.U.P.A Hale, led by Alan Hale. These two groups of dedicated musicians from Kona with a common love for \u2018ukulele music and for sharing it with others of all ages. <\/li>\n<li><b>Alii Keanaaina.<\/b> Originally from North Kona, Alii first toured with his twin brother Nui, before stepping into the solo spotlight in 2010, when he won the Clyde \u201cKindy\u201d Sproat Falsetto Contest. He tours in Japan, Las Vegas, and around the Islands, and easily pleases crowds with his smooth falsetto and full voice Hawaiian music.<\/li>\n<li><b>Widdy Loo.<\/b> Born and raised Hawai\u2019i Island, Widdy is a lifelong musician who plays a wide variety of music, often incorporating hula and stories of \u201cOld Hawai\u2018i\u201d. <\/li>\n<li><b>Maluhia<\/b>. George Bence and Beverly McCabe created the Hawaiian-Canadian musical blend, Maluhia (\u201cpeace\u201d). They share their time and music between Hawai\u2018i and Vancouver Islands.<\/li>\n<li><b>Brittni Paiva.<\/b> Brittni\u2019s musical career started with piano lessons at age four in her hometown, Hilo. She picked up \u2018ukulele at eleven and has since released six CDs, won the N\u0101 H\u014dk\u016b Hanohano Award for \u2018Ukulele Album of the Year, and traveled internationally. Her multi-genre style melds traditional, pop, alternative, EDM (Electronic Dance Music) and more, and she has pioneered the looping technique on \u2018ukulele in her YouTube videos. <\/li>\n<li><b>Mark Yamanaka.<\/b> A nine-time H\u014dk\u016b winner from Hilo, Mark is known for his sweet and soulful Hawaiian music and falsetto, performs frequently in the island and Japan. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>  The festival includes prizes and \u2018ukulele giveaways by sponsoring companies. <\/p>\n<p>  The 17th Annual Great Waikoloa \u2018Ukulele Festival is a production of Waikoloa Beach Resort and \u2018Ukulele Festival Hawai\u2019i.
